What are the major groups of microorganisms?

Ans - Microorganisms are very small living organisms that can't be seen from the eye to see them you need a microscope because a microscope magnifies them from which you can see them, There are 5 major types of microorganisms.  These 5 major microorganisms are given below - :

1 . Bacteria
2 . Fungi
3 . Viruses
4 . Algae
5 . Protozoans

  • Bacteria - Bacteria are prokaryotic, these are unicellular organisms while Viruses are acellular organisms. 
  • Fungi - Fungi are saprophytic microorganisms that are found in dead plants and other organic matter.
  • Viruses - Protozoans are the eukaryotic microorganisms that are mostly found in the sea because mostly protozoans are aquatic. 
  • Algae - Algae are eukaryotic microorganisms that are chlorophyll-containing photosynthetic microorganisms. 
 These are the major groups of microorganisms .
